As a matter of fact, the pictures dont even do justice because there is a button under the lapel that allows you to close up your neck and the lapel is so wide that when you pull it up, it covers almost the entire back of your head for added warmth. One review stated that the fur was slightly lighter than shown in the picture. I can only say that maybe due to the natural fur variations could be the reason for that, but mine was identical to the photo. I ordered the large because i like to be able to wear a sweater under my jacket. I found the jacket to be cut a little small so I am glad I went with the large. I would order a size up if you are having reserves about what size to order. I normally would take a medium but the large fit well.
