One big plus is that it has snaps all the way down the front of the coat with the last snap at the hem. I've looked high and low for a coat with that feature. However, I feel I have to be careful when unsnapping them because they are just attached on the thin inner and outer layers of the coat.It would have been better if there was some padding of some kind to make them more "sturdy". Also, I found the arms to be rather tight- wearing a medium to thick sweater underneath is uncomfortable but do-able. I wanted something that would keep me warm and would be stylish as well and this coat is it. The coat is long and lightweight with knit cuffs at the wrists to keep arms warm and closes snugly (but not too tightly) at the neck. The coat is slim fitting. I am a size 6 and ordered a medium which seems just right. Another nice feature is pockets that zip closed. The coat closes with both a zipper and snaps. The only problem I have is that it is difficult to zip the zipper without getting it caught on the lining which is annoying. I THINK WITH PRACTICE I'LL FIGURE OUT ITS QUIRKS, BUT AT THE MOMENT IT'S A STRUGGLE TO ZIP IT UP OR DOWN.THE GOOD NEWS IS I LOVE THIS COAT. IT FITS BEAUTIFULLY (I GOT A SMALL, 5'3" AND 110) AND THE COLOR IS GREAT (I GOT BROWN). THE FUR TRIM IS SOFT, AND THE COAT HAS A FITTED CUT THAT'S VERY FLATTERING. IT'S WARM, IT'S COMFORTABLE...NOW IF THEY'D JUST MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO ZIP IT UP WITHOUT FIVE MINUTES OF TROUBLE, IT WOULD BE PERFECT. Update: this coat gets easier to zip all the time. It's a question of threading the zipper properly, then avoiding the left-hand flap of material that tends to get inn the way. I wanted to add that I have gotten many, many compliments on this coat, especially the lovely, rich brown color, which is such a great change from the usual blacks and tans. It's very warm -- we just had a stretch of below zero with wind chill. I love this coat. |
