1.0 out of 5 stars Will not last, June 1, 2008
This review is from: Sunbeam 2354 Heritage Series 350-Watt Stand Mixer, Silver (Kitchen)
I bought this mixer about 1 years ago. It LOOKS reliable , heavy, with a lot of steel built into it. It is everything but reliable. Built to last till the end of the warranty period, not a day longer. All that steel is to make sure no-one will be able to take it apart to fix it, or to see that the internal power transmission parts are made from cheap plastic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Even a hand held mixer is better than this, May 27, 2006
No wonder the price of this model has gone down considerably since I bought mine. I read the negative reviews, but I had no choice, because I wanter a mixer with two bowl sizes.

This Mixmaster was designed for someone with the height, strength, and hand size of an NBA basketball star. I am 4'11", 71 years old, and have arthritis in my hands. I cannot use the mixer unless someone is in the house to raise and lower the head and eject the beaters.

My mother had such long service from her Sunbeam Mixmaster, it became a tradition in our family for every bride to receive one. My 1955 model had juicer and grinding attachments. Eventually, it wore out and I had to replace it. By that time, the company had been sold to a French corporation and manufactured in Canada. It was unsatisfactory, but, at least I could use it without help. I can't count how many I have had, but this is definitely the last. Its bowl and beater design and puny motor make it useless for even... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Sunbeam MixMaster 4.5 Qt. Stand Mixer, May 15, 2007
Very poor performance, only slightly better than a hand mixer. After 5 minutes mixing cake icing, the body and beaters got so hot I was unable to touch them. The unit smelled like it was about to catch fire.
