I was slightly disappointed with the texture of it, though. It was a bit pricklier than I imagined. But with a scarf to protect the back of my neck, this coat is exactly what I need when it is cold and windy. I got a size larger than I needed, partially because I wanted to be sure that it would not be too tight, and partially because it was the smallest available at the time. It was a bit long at the bottom and a bit wide at the shoulders. This of course, is no fault of the product, I just suggest that any prospective buyers get the size that their measurements fit the closest with. Overall, I really like the coat, when I wear it on cold windy nights I only feel the wind below where the coat reaches. It is true to size and just the right length. Not too bulky and the sleeves are the correct length, not too short or hanging over my hands. It has two pockets, one on each side but no interior pockets; the trench is also lined with a nice satin-like polyester.The cashmire wool blend means the jacket is a tiny bit lighter than one would expect from a *completely 100% wool* jacket, but it's also SOFTER, not stratchy, and still got enough heft to it to keep me warm. It's obviously well made [although I'm alittle disappointed :( it's made in China]. Overall a great deal for the price. (I'm not used to spending that much on one piece of clothing, but in this case I definitely got my moneys-worth). I ordered the "pecan" color and it looks great. I ordered a size 8 in this coat and it fits good - slightly big so I can wear it over sweaters. The fabric blend is 70% wool, 20% nylon and 10% cashmere -- just enough to make it soft (I did not find it prickly). Like another reviewer, I found the shoulders of the coat are bulkier than it appears in the photos. There is extra shoulder padding. This is a good quality coat for a great price, so I decided to keep the coat and was able to (carefully) remove the shoulder padding and am happy with the look. You could probably have a seamstress do this inexpensively. The extra padding may not be a problem for those with narrower shoulders. |
