Still wouldn't advertise this to anyone over 40, but it's very clean and slick with a slightly contemporary feel. I've owned a USN peacoat before (which I lost somehow) and the wool was scratchy to the point I had to wear a scarf, but this wool is very soft. Size seems to run just fine, it fits on me snugly with a couple of layers underneath. Haven't worn it into the cold yet, but it's very heavy and feels like it could be worn in the cold just by trying it on. The actual sizing of the large was perfect--sleeves/chest/shoulders, but the coat was not fitted at all and rather resembled a dress. I returned the large for a medium which gave a slightly better fit (i.e. not a dress). When simply standing there, the coat fit great. But when moving around or performing any action, it was too tight in the chest and shoulders. And when raising my hands even slightly (as if to shake someone's hand) the sleeves pulled back a significant amount.I really wanted to make this coat work, but I can't justify buying it if I'm not happy with it.
