    I got one of these as a wedding present, but I had a reliable Oster blender so I shelved it. My Oster gave out after 3-4 years, and I fired this one up. It was very powerful, but it made a burning smell whenever I used it. Then a ring appeared around the base which was oil being thrown out from the blade assembly just under the jar bottom. After less than one month of use, liquid started to leak through the blade assembly onto the base. I recommend avoiding this.
