I've never been a huge fan of quilted coats, so I'd been hesitant to buy one, but because I'll be going into the city more often for some of my grad school classes, I knew I'd need to get one. This coat is both comfortable and warm. It transitions from outdoors to indoors well, and if I decide to leave it on indoors (in the mall, grocery store, etc.), I'm not too hot. It's also not so heavy that I can't move around comfortably in it. The collar is slightly annoying, because its design kind of keeps me from being able to zip the coat all the way up, but it goes up far enough that my neck isn't cold. I was a little skeptical at first ordering online because I couldn't try it on. I have wore this out in NYC on a cold windy wintery night wih a short sleeve shirt underneath & I stayed warm. I was a litte disappointed that it does not have a hhod, but the neck comes up & covers my mouth & nose.it is very light weight & I love that it comes further down than the waist.
